Demolition (page still under development)
Clearance of the site began with breaking up the concrete of the top terrace at the brook end. 25th July 2022
Paving slabs of the lower terrace have been removed, as has fill from the upper to give a level area. 28th July 2022
As soil removal begins, archaeology is discovered about a foot below the lower terrace surface. 3rd August 2022
It is a medieval drainage channel with the smooth sides facing inwards of the two rows of stonework. It has long been suspected that this area was the site of the Abbey Mill but no evidence has been found. 11th August 2022
